Paris’ food : from Julia Child to new trends

100€ per person

1 glass of wine included

Duration : 3 hours

In detail

“Bon appétit !” as Julia Child would say.

Follow Julia’s steps in Les Halles located in the center of Paris. We will see what Paris looked liked foodwise in the fifties and where Julia was going to get her food.
We will walk in a typical buzzling Parisian market street with food shops : cheese, seafood, fruits and vegetables, pastry shops and bakery. Beautiful things for the eyes and tastebuds !
I will show you different shops along the way if you’d like to add extra food to this tour or if you’d like to bring some back home or your apartment rental : foie gras, pâté, jams or maybe mustard ? We will discuss about new food trends in Paris, see how the Parisians do their grocery shopping and end in a wine bar for glasses of wine and eat a few things collected along the way.

We can taste along the way different french food specialties at restaurants and in shops :

  • French onion soup
  • Escargots
  • Charcuterie
  • Cheese
  • Pastries
  • Bread of course
  • wine

This is a small group tour and requires a minimum of two people.
I will present you shops as we walk, sweet and savory, in no particular order. Save some space in your suitcase to bring some food back home ! Please consider that in the summer time it might be difficult to walk around with chocolates or fragile goods.

The purchase of one ticket will secure the date and time. Then, you may purchase the additional tickets when you have a better idea of the exact number of people.
